Move over pre-made meals, it’s time to get fresh and local.
Let’s be honest, the college dining experience is nothing like it used to be. Gone are the days of limited food options and re-heated pre-cooked meals and pre-made sandwiches. As colleges and universities cater to Generation Z, campus food halls are now home to multiple styles of food in one commonplace. From meat-less and vegan options to custom-made-to-order authentic foods, students have high expectations these days.
As if catering to new food trends wasn’t enough, changes in procedures from COVID-19 have forced campuses to actively rethink their layout and design to include quicker service and adhere to social distancing. This requires more versatile equipment that can offer flexibility while maintaining food quality and consistency for an extended period.
